It is inevitable that we will face stress, often ongoing stress in our life, especially in modern city based living.
Most of the symptoms that my practice members come in for are a result of their brain and nervous system becoming overwhelmed by these stressors instead of them being able to “rise with the tide” of them.
There has been research around for more than 20yrs telling us that most chronic health issues people face have stress as their primary contributing factor but even with that being a fact there are still things we can all do to improve our adaptability and resilience to these ongoing stressors we face.
You may often hear me say that we are what we repeat and this can go either of two ways. Habits and lifestyle choices that promote greater brain and nervous system adaptability and resilience or impair the brain and nervous systems ability to control and coordinate the functions and repair of the body.
Choosing positive lifestyle habits like regular chiropractic adjustments (weekly or fortnightly), balancing movement, activity and exercise with relaxation, rest and quality sleep; good fresh nutrition eaten at the right time of day, watching the sun rise regularly and minimising artificial blue light spectrum after dark from modern lights and devices all go a long way into building greater brain and nervous system adaptability and resilience.
The longer you choose to repeat these habits and choices throughout your lifetime the greater health, wellness and quality of life you will experience.
These choices are in your control and by making ones that promotes greater brain and nervous system adaptability and resilience allows you to be someone who “rises with the tide” of stress.
