Can sunlight be a doctor? Can it be your doctor for conditions like ADHD, depression, anxiety and sleep apnea, if not many other chronic health conditions?

The short answer is yes, if you use it correctly.

Light is an information signal to all cells of your body so they can function correctly. This is what the field of circadian biology has been telling us.

Are you aware that sunlight and artificial light are different? That they emit different frequencies and the missing frequencies in artificial light (from screens and cool white LED lighting) essentially creates chaos in your cells leading them to move into a survival mode and then over time, dependent of the area of your inherent weakness within your body become dysfunctional and symptomatic.

Chronic digestive and hormonal disorders, mental health disorders, sleep disorders, learning and behavioural issues are all being shown to have a link back to this altered light story.

One of natures essential nutrients is sunlight. Your brain and nervous system rely on it for optimal function. Starving yourself of this essential nutrient while bathing in toxic artificial blue frequency lights and screens are part of the modern chronic health epidemic.

Making a small shift of being outside as or soon after the sun rises for 10-30min is a great first step to mitigating blue light toxicity. Building up to getting a small amount of UV sun throughout the day, each day is the next critical step to letting the sun become your light doctor.
